Steve Whitkof, the US Special Envoy to the Middle East, expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for their tremendous efforts regarding the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also played an important role in reaching the Gaza agreement.
In a speech from the detainees’ square in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening, broadcast by the Cairo News Channel, Whitkof said that US President Donald Trump showed the world that peace and strength go hand in hand and that he has a strong desire for a stable and prosperous Middle East.
Whitkof pointed out that everyone is praying for peace, considering that “this night is exceptional because we are celebrating a moment that everyone thought was impossible… and now we are here as a result of our belief that miracles can be achieved with courage… peace is now happening.”
He expressed his gratitude to President Trump regarding peace in the Middle East, affirming that this moment was made possible by the perseverance and commitment of leaders who did not rest until peace was achieved in the region.
