The Board of Directors of the Arab Labour Organization, chaired by Mohamed Gabrane, Chairman and Egyptian Minister of Labour, in its 103rd session held in Cairo, Egypt, issued a statement supporting the workers and people of Palestine.

The board reaffirmed its firm stance supporting the legitimate rights of Palestinian workers and people, foremost among them their right to self-determination and managing their state affairs.

The board welcomed the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the beginning of the return of thousands of displaced persons alongside the gradual withdrawal of occupation forces, appreciating the diplomatic efforts contributed by Arab countries to facilitate humanitarian aid flow, and praised all Arab and international moves that led to ending the destructive war and adopting a just and comprehensive peace process.

The board called for obliging the occupation authorities to compensate Palestinian workers and people for the damages caused by their brutal attacks and to bring the perpetrators of these violations before international courts as war crimes and genocide.

Expressing deep concern over the unprecedented genocide crimes left by two years of war in Gaza, the board stressed the urgent and permanent opening of crossings to allow the entry of food, medicine, fuel, and water, ensuring their safe delivery to all residential areas, and accelerating the restoration of basic services.

It affirmed that rebuilding Gaza is an urgent priority to enable the safe and dignified return of families to their homes and neighborhoods, activate the local economy, and provide decent job opportunities without infringing on the rights of Palestinian workers.

The board called on governments and the tripartite production parties in Arab countries to intensify support for Palestinian workers and people by actively contributing to relief programs and the Palestinian Employment Fund, supporting labor-intensive employment and work-related training programs to alleviate the effects of the economic siege and restrictions imposed on the State of Palestine.

The board also expressed its complete rejection of the entry of occupation forces and extremists into Al-Aqsa Mosque and religious sites, considering it a provocation to the feelings of Muslims and Christians and contrary to all international charters on the matter.

The Board of Directors of the Arab Labour Organization confirmed its commitment to continue its efforts in defending the rights of Palestinian workers and people and other occupied Arab lands (South Lebanon and the Syrian Golan) in regional and international forums, working to mobilize support for implementing relief and early economic recovery plans until full rights are restored.

The board called on countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to join the recent wave of international recognitions in support of the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
