Since early Tuesday, 22 Palestinian civilians have been killed and others injured in continuous Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) quoted medical sources saying, “The death toll is expected to rise due to victims trapped under the rubble and in the streets.”

The agency reported that “7 citizens were killed and others injured in an Israeli strike targeting a house west of Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip,” noting “the killing of three citizens and injuring others after Israeli aircraft targeted a tent sheltering displaced people near the Attar station in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip.”

It also said that “7 dead and injured arrived at Al-Awda Hospital, hit by Israeli army fire near the aid distribution center in the Nitsarim area in central Gaza.”

On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 20-point plan to end the war between Israel and Hamas and establish post-war governance in the war-torn Palestinian territory.

The Trump plan calls for the creation of an interim governing council chaired by Trump and including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The plan does not require Gaza residents to leave the Strip and calls for an immediate end to the war if both sides agree.

It also calls on Hamas to release all remaining hostages within 72 hours of Israel’s acceptance, a difficult effort given the hostages are spread throughout the Strip.

A senior Trump administration official, who was not authorized to discuss the plan publicly, stated that the 72-hour deadline begins once Hamas accepts the proposal.
