The Egyptian Presidency stated that the “Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit” emphasized the necessity to begin “consultations on ways and mechanisms to implement the next phases” of US President Donald Trump’s plan.

This was stated in a communiqué following the conclusion of the summit held on Monday, chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and his American counterpart, with the participation of more than 20 world leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The summit’s work focused on “the absolute support and endorsement of the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement to end the war in Gaza, which was signed on October 9, 2025, mediated by Egypt, the United States, Qatar, and Turkey,” according to the Egyptian Presidency’s statement.

The Egyptian Presidency added that “the summit praised Trump’s leadership efforts to end the war through his settlement plan, and the pivotal role played by the brothers in Qatar and Turkey in mediation efforts,” while appreciating Egypt’s role and efforts.

According to the statement, “the summit discussed the importance of cooperation among international community parties to provide all means to follow up on the implementation of the agreement’s provisions and maintain its continuity, including a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, completing the exchange of hostages and prisoners, Israeli withdrawal, and the entry of humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip.”

It added: “It was also emphasized to start consultations on ways and mechanisms to implement the next phases of President Trump’s settlement plan, starting with issues related to governance, security provision, reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and ending with the political track of the settlement.”

In this context, the summit witnessed “a signing ceremony by the leaders of the mediating countries on a document supporting the agreement,” according to the Egyptian Presidency’s statement.

The summit opened with a main platform gathering Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and his American and Egyptian counterparts Donald Trump and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, along with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The rest of the participating leaders and officials sat behind the platform.

Following a brief speech by Trump addressing the Gaza agreement, President Erdoğan, along with his Egyptian, American counterparts and Qatar’s Emir, signed the agreement document, according to Anadolu Agency correspondent.

The summit came after the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel came into effect at 12:00 noon last Friday Jerusalem time (09:00 GMT), after being approved by the Tel Aviv government earlier that day.

With American support, Israel has committed genocide in Gaza since October 8, 2023, resulting in 67,869 deaths and 170,105 injuries, most of whom are children and women, and famine that claimed the lives of 463 Palestinians including 157 children.
