Sources told Al Arabiya that the victims of the accident near Sharm El-Sheikh are “employees of the Qatari Embassy in Cairo, not the negotiating delegation.”

They added that the diplomats were on their way to Sharm El-Sheikh for logistical preparations, noting that a security team has been formed to investigate the causes of the accident involving the Qatari diplomats.

Sources to Al Hadath indicated that three diplomats working at the Qatari Embassy died in the traffic accident in Sharm El-Sheikh, adding that the Egyptian Interior Minister is following up on the details of the Qatari delegation’s accident in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The source added that “the delegation’s vehicle was involved in an accident due to a steering wheel malfunction,” noting three deaths and three injuries, including the Egyptian driver.
