US President Donald Trump returned to his recurring habit with a strange handshake with French President Emmanuel Macron.
This occurred during their meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh before the Peace Summit and ending the war in Gaza on Monday evening.
After the initial handshake, Trump grabbed Macron’s hand and squeezed it with his fist, while the French president appeared uncomfortable in front of the cameras.
This is not the first time Trump has shaken Macron’s hand this way, as he had done a similar move twice before.
In December 2024, during their meeting in Paris, Trump’s handshake style sparked controversy again as he deliberately shook strongly and raised his hand noticeably, which some considered an attempt to show dominance.
Previously, a famous handshake between Trump and Macron in 2017 saw them trying to pull each other’s hands for nearly half a minute.
