It has been learned that the position of the Lebanese Forces ministers will be firm in today’s Cabinet session regarding the necessity for the army’s plan to implement the Cabinet decision issued on August 5, concerning the monopoly of weapons by the state and the deployment of the army across all Lebanese territories to assert its authority, in accordance with the constitution, the oath speech, and the ministerial statement.

Sources indicated that the international community’s attention is focused on this plan, whose implementation would open the door for external support to Lebanon, whether in financial reform, reconstruction, or support for the army and institutions. Any dilution or obstruction in implementing the decision would lead to the opposite result and plunge Lebanon into a spiral of stagnation and a negative path.

In the same context, sources pointed out that the American envoy Tom Barrack’s paper was previously approved in principle by the Cabinet on August 7. It relates to the negotiation track between Lebanon, Israel, and Syria under American sponsorship, including Israeli withdrawal, border control, and demarcation to the south and east. However, they stressed that this paper does not constitute a precondition for implementing the August 5 decision.
