On Monday, Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Moroccan Gate, under heavy protection from the Israeli occupation police, coinciding with Jewish holidays. They conducted provocative tours in its courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals.
The occupation forces tightened restrictions on Jerusalemites’ access to the mosque, according to the Palestinian News Agency WAFA, preventing some from entering amid strict security measures to secure the settlers’ incursion.
The Israeli occupation authorities exploit Jewish holidays and occasions to tighten restrictions on Palestinian citizens and impose collective punishments by closing checkpoints, intensifying military procedures, hindering Palestinian movement, and preventing access to holy sites.
