According to the Hebrew newspaper Israel Hayom, more than ten Israeli settlers crossed the border into Syria and attempted to establish a settlement outpost in southern Syria named Aloni Hebshan. They raised a banner linked to the idea of “Greater Israel.” The Israeli army intervened and returned them to inside Israel. The settlers admitted during interrogation that they initiated the outpost establishment on their own without any external support. No official comment has been issued yet by Tel Aviv or Damascus. This incident continues the pattern of Israeli violations in Syria, especially after the collapse of the 1974 separation of forces agreement.
