A leader of the Palestinian Hamas movement stated on Saturday that the movement will not participate in the signing ceremony of the agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza, scheduled to take place in Egypt.
Hamas political bureau member Hussam Badran told Agence France-Presse in Doha that “Hamas will not be part of the signing process. Only the mediators and the American and Israeli officials will participate.”
On Saturday, Hamas confirmed that its leadership continues efforts in coordination with various countries to ensure the entry of aid and relief materials into the Gaza Strip.
A statement from the movement quoted leader Ezzat al-Rishq saying that Hamas emphasizes its firm commitment to dedicating all its capabilities and efforts to serve the Palestinians in Gaza, despite the massive destruction caused by the Israeli war that broke out nearly two years ago.
Last week, Hamas announced its acceptance of the Trump plan to end the war in Gaza, which Israel also approved, and the ceasefire began on Friday afternoon.
