The family-owned Trevergy Farm in Maine continues to attract attention with its unique corn maze design each year. For the fourth consecutive year, the farm won the “Best Corn Maze” award given by USA Today as part of its annual readers’ choice awards.

This year’s win coincides with the 25th anniversary of the maze’s launch, with the farm deciding to create an exceptional design carrying a special message.

This season, the farm chose a design shaped like a giant whale titled “A Whale of a Tale,” inspired by Maine children’s book author Robert McCloskey and his classic 1989 novel “Burt Dow, Deep-Water Man.” This is not the first collaboration with McCloskey’s works; in 2019, the farm based a maze design on his book “Blueberries for Sal” and won second place in the same competition.

Since 2018, Trevergy’s maze has consistently ranked first or second in USA Today’s awards. The farm’s success is not limited to the maze; it also won awards in the “Best Pumpkin Patch” category over the past two years.

This year, the farm continued its success by placing second in that category while retaining the “Best Corn Maze” title.

The current maze spans more than four acres and includes over 60,000 corn plants reaching up to 10 feet tall, making it the largest and longest-lasting in the state.

The experience is not limited to the maze; the farm offers a wide range of activities such as apple picking, horse-drawn wagon rides, and visits to pumpkin fields.

Special events are also held on selected October evenings, where visitors explore the maze using flashlights to add an adventurous and challenging atmosphere.

The farm is open to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday until early November, giving everyone the chance to enjoy this exceptional experience.
