The Rumor Control Center affiliated with the Media Syndicate, headed by MP Dr. Tarek Saada, denied the social media rumors about the execution of 16 lions and 6 tigers at the Giza Zoo. The center confirmed that these claims are false, stating that the General Director of Zoos in Egypt clarified the circulated images actually belong to zoos in Germany and not Egypt. The Media Syndicate had previously launched a specialized center to combat rumors along with a comprehensive strategy to control social media chaos. This strategy aims to protect social fabric by limiting the spread of rumors and fake news that cause division, enhance trust in institutions by providing accurate and reliable information, build trust between official institutions and citizens, support development efforts by confronting malicious campaigns, and improve Egypt’s global image by correcting misinformation circulated abroad.
