The Al-Sharqia Endowments Directorate has launched a new initiative to discover and develop children’s talents in the call to prayer through the “Little Muezzin” competition organized by Sadat Quraish Mosque. The competition is dedicated to students of the mosque’s Quran memorization circle, and contestants will start to be received from next Thursday inside the mosque.
The competition includes three main criteria for evaluating contestants: voice beauty, good performance, and correct pronunciation of the call to prayer. The mosque administration also announced that children will be trained weekly every Thursday after Asr prayer on vocal maqams and correct pronunciation rules of the call to prayer, contributing to preparing a new generation of distinguished muezzins in voice and performance.
The competition comes as part of the Ministry of Endowments’ keenness to encourage the youth to learn the call to prayer, love the houses of God, and develop their vocal and religious skills in a refined educational environment.
