The harvest for this season is estimated by the technical services at the Agricultural Delegation to be around 90,000 tons of olives, equivalent to 18,000 tons of oil. During a working session held today at the Medenine Governorate headquarters, it was decided to open the olive harvest season in the governorate on November 1, due to the ripening of the fruits in several forests.

The olive forest in the governorate consists of about 550,000 olive trees spread over more than 208,000 hectares, of which 78% are productive olive trees, 10% are young plantations, and 12% are old plantations mostly located in the delegations of Djerba and Zarzis.
