Advisor Mahmoud Fawzi, Minister of Parliamentary, Legal Affairs and Political Communication, attended the Chinese Embassy’s National Day celebration in Cairo on Monday at a hotel in Cairo, in the presence of Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications, representing the Prime Minister, and a group of parliamentary and public figures.

Mahmoud Fawzi stated that his attendance at China’s National Day comes within the framework of the historical relations between the two countries, built over time on similar customs and traditions, mutual respect, respect for state policies, and non-interference in internal affairs, in addition to extensive and significant economic relations and a full rapprochement between the Egyptian and Chinese peoples. Over the last ten years, this has witnessed an unprecedented strategic partnership at economic, cultural, educational, tourism, and other levels.

Fawzi pointed out a comprehensive strategic partnership launched during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to China in December 2014, where he signed with the Chinese president a partnership document including economic, political, and military cooperation, pushing relations to new horizons until China became one of Egypt’s most important economic partners, alongside political coordination in international forums.

China celebrates its National Day on October 1st every year. This celebration commemorates the founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949. On that day, an official victory celebration was held at Tiananmen Square, where Mao Zedong raised the first national communist flag of China.
