Ibrahim Saber, the Governor of Cairo, inaugurated a nursery to serve mothers of Asmarat and the factory workers there, established by the Jannat Al-Kholoud Association. He also opened a clothing printing center, whose equipment was donated by a well-known bank to help Asmarat women find work as part of family empowerment and sustainable development.
The governor also inspected several factories in Asmarat, including clothing, upholstery, and embroidery factories.
The opening was attended by Ashraf Mansour, Deputy Governor for the Southern Region, and several local officials.
The Governor of Cairo emphasized that eliminating slum areas in the capital, which was one of the major challenges successfully addressed by the state following the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, has provided a distinguished model and a unique experience studied worldwide in establishing new integrated urban communities.
He added that the state is keen to provide full care for the residents of Asmarat and all the new urban cities established as alternative housing for unsafe areas.
The nursery includes 6 classrooms accommodating 100 children from the city, and the printing center will teach women the craft of printing on fabrics and clothes.
