Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, held a meeting at the Kom Oshim Industrial Zone headquarters with several investors and utility company representatives to follow up on the development works of the industrial zone and to discuss investment opportunities and challenges facing project implementation in the industrial areas and clusters in the governorate.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Al-Touni, Deputy Governor; Dr. Abdel Maqsoud Khalifa, Vice President of the Kom Oshim Investors Association; Eng. Mostafa Owais, Head of Fayoum Electricity Sector; Eng. Mohamed Saber, General Manager of Operation and Maintenance; Eng. Iman Sedky, Director of Roads; Eng. Sami Ghali, Head of Water Sector at the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company; Yasser Gomaa, Director of Kom Oshim Area; Sam Farhat, General Manager of Production and Economic Affairs; and representatives of utility companies.
The meeting reviewed the status of completing electrical capacities in Sector 8 and formed a committee to inventory uses and tasks. The governor directed the preparation of a comprehensive file on the matter. Requests from factory owners to increase electrical capacities were discussed, as well as solutions for low water pressure, implementation of the sewage line in sectors 6 and 4B, road maintenance and upgrading, and updates on the rehabilitation project of the Kom Oshim industrial sewage station with a capacity of 19,000 cubic meters per day.
The meeting also included a review of the provision of taxi and service vehicle routes to serve the workforce, offering vacant lands through the Egypt Digital Industrial Platform, and utilizing metal warehouses for industrial projects in pharmaceuticals, feed, and food sectors. Four warehouses were announced in the areas of Damu (17,500 sqm), Tatoon (12,600 sqm), Daniel (21,537 sqm), and Tamiya (12,425 sqm).
The meeting discussed mechanisms to activate the role of the Kom Oshim Investors Association and proposed establishing an association that includes all industrial entities in the governorate to solve investors’ problems.
The governor directed the rapid preparation of a financial estimate for extending electrical cables to feed the strategic goods warehouse in the Damu area and other projects such as the new Fayoum General Hospital, schools, and universities. He emphasized the diversity of industrial activities and the governorate’s keenness to support serious investment, remove obstacles, facilitate procedures, promote economic development, and provide job opportunities.
