Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia, welcomed Dr. Amr Qandil, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, this evening following his field tour of several hospitals and health facilities within the governorate, in the presence of Dr. Osama Belbel, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Gharbia.
During the meeting, the governor emphasized that the ongoing development and continuous support witnessed in the health sector clearly reflects the state’s interest, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in health affairs, considering it a fundamental pillar for building the Egyptian citizen. He stressed that citizens’ health is a top priority in the governorate’s executive work. El-Gendy explained that Gharbia Governorate is working in full coordination with the Ministry of Health to develop medical services provided to citizens, whether in terms of hospital infrastructure or by enhancing the efficiency of medical and administrative staff and ensuring the regular availability of supplies and medicines.
The governor pointed out his commitment to continuous field follow-up of hospitals and health units to ensure smooth workflow and to verify the quality of services provided, affirming that the ultimate goal is to serve the patient and meet their needs within an integrated care framework that achieves citizen satisfaction and dignity.
For his part, Dr. Amr Qandil, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, praised Gharbia Governorate’s efforts in supporting the health sector, appreciating the governor’s continuous monitoring of operations within medical facilities and his keenness to remove any obstacles promptly. He confirmed that the Ministry of Health is working to strengthen cooperation with the governorate to face challenges and elevate the level of health services in line with the state’s vision.
It is noteworthy that the Deputy Minister of Health will hold an extensive meeting with hospital directors, health unit managers, and directors of departments affiliated with the Directorate of Health Affairs in Gharbia to discuss the results of preventive medicine teams’ inspections of health facilities and review mechanisms to improve performance and address observations. This is in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, regarding continuous field follow-up of health facilities and taking immediate corrective measures to ensure the advancement of medical services provided to citizens and the provision of integrated healthcare within the governorate.
