Major General Akram Galal, Governor of Ismailia, participated in the celebration organized by South Korean Ambassador to Cairo Kim Young Hyun at the Korean White House in Maadi, marking South Korea’s National Day and the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and South Korea.

The event was attended by prominent figures including Park Beom-ki, the personal representative of the South Korean President visiting Egypt officially, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education, as well as several foreign and Arab ambassadors such as Abdullah Al-Rahbi, Ambassador of Oman, the EU Ambassador, and ambassadors from Mexico, India, Pakistan, Thailand, and the Netherlands.

The Governor praised the tangible development in Egyptian-Korean relations on various levels, especially in recent years under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which has solidified South Korea’s position as an important economic partner for Egypt.

The governor also met with officials from Hyundai Rotem to discuss cooperation on implementing the Hyundai hydrogen tram project in Ismailia. The company develops and manufactures self-propelled trams powered by hydrogen fuel cells and electric batteries, contributing to clean air production and reducing carbon emissions.
