Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, announced the launch of a new initiative to employ youth and graduates from the governorate, in cooperation between the Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprise Development Authority in Assiut and the Arab Organization for Industrialization. The initiative aims to provide suitable employment means and real job opportunities for youth across various districts of the governorate.

The governor explained that the initiative comes in implementation of the directives of the state led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to support youth and empower them economically by providing sustainable job opportunities and opening new horizons for small, medium, and micro enterprises. He pointed out that the first phase of the initiative includes providing “light tricycles” equipped to establish various projects suitable to the nature of each district and the needs of the youth.

Major General Abu Al-Nasr added that the tricycles will be allocated for service and productive projects such as selling drinks and food, bakery projects, makouji (a type of Egyptian street food), and ice cream, in addition to small agricultural and industrial projects such as greenhouses and fish farms. This contributes to village development, creating new job opportunities, and improving the income level of beneficiary families.

The Governor of Assiut confirmed the governorate’s keenness to provide all forms of technical and financial support to youth wishing to implement their projects through the Assiut Project Development Authority, which offers great facilitation in licensing, financing, training, and preparing feasibility studies. He clarified that the goal is to transform youth energies into successful productive projects that contribute to supporting the local economy.

The governor called on youth and graduates wishing to benefit from the initiative to quickly head to the headquarters of the Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprise Development Authority in Assiut on Al-Galaa Street to inquire and submit applications, or to call the numbers: 01007225154 – 01001106362.

Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr concluded his statements by confirming that the governorate will spare no effort to support initiatives targeting youth employment and advancing the local economic sector, noting that this step is part of an integrated plan to achieve comprehensive development and improve the living standards of citizens in all districts and villages of the governorate.
