French President Emmanuel Macron will meet on Friday with political party leaders, excluding the “National Rally” and “France Unbowed” parties, at the Élysée Palace at 2:30 p.m. This meeting aims to explore ways to resolve the ongoing political crisis in France, which recently saw the formation of a new government followed by the resignation of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne and her government resigned on Monday just hours after the cabinet was announced, making it the shortest-lived government in modern French history.
The crisis caused tension in financial markets, but bonds maintained gains achieved the previous day amid optimism that France can avoid early parliamentary elections and reach a budget agreement.
