Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Monufia, directed the swift implementation of necessary measures to resolve the problem of the road leading to Dawood Island in Sadat City, following complaints from residents about the difficulty students face reaching their schools due to flooded lands caused by the Nile’s overflow.

The governor confirmed that upon receiving the complaints, executive bodies were tasked with conducting a field inspection. The inspection revealed that the main road connecting the villages of Sansoft within the island is paved and free of obstacles, while the problem lies in residents’ preference to use a shortcut passing through waterlogged agricultural lands, posing a danger to children.

600 Tons of Rubble Used to Prepare the Road

As part of the immediate response, the local unit began paving works using 600 tons of rubble from the Tarana ferry over a length of 750 meters, and 300 tons of fill from the Akhmas ferry over 500 meters, to facilitate traffic flow and improve the road.

Urgent Technical Report to Study Raising the Road Level

The governor also ordered the preparation of an urgent technical report by the Projects and Irrigation Unit to study the possibility of raising the road level or implementing safe alternatives to ensure students’ safety, affirming his continuous follow-up until the complete implementation of the required solutions.
