Lucid, the world’s most advanced electric vehicle manufacturer, celebrated the second anniversary of its advanced factory (AMP-2) in King Abdullah Economic City, coinciding with Saudi Arabia’s 95th National Day celebrations. This dual celebration highlights the shared journey between the nation and the company, based on a mutual commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s vision in innovation, sustainability, and progress.
In just two years, the bold vision turned into a tangible reality with the establishment of a fully integrated electric vehicle factory in the Kingdom, considered the most advanced in the region—reflecting Lucid’s and Saudi Arabia’s commitment to economic diversification and leadership in the global transition to clean energy.
The distinction of the AMP-2 facility lies in its dual identity; on one hand, a world-class factory designed to lead innovation, and on the other, a strong symbol of the Kingdom’s ability to attract advanced industries aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
An Achievement Adding to Saudi Pride
At the beginning of 2025, Lucid became the first car manufacturer to receive the prestigious “Made in Saudi” mark—more than just a slogan, it is a true expression of the company’s identity, producing world-class electric vehicles with Saudi talents, directly supporting the national industrial strategy and enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a global hub for advanced industries and electric vehicle technology.
Today, Saudis make up about 69% of Lucid’s workforce, many of whom are graduates of the Human Resources Development Fund programs. These young men and women play a pivotal and growing role in various company operations, from manufacturing and sales to IT and marketing.
Faisal Sultan, President of Lucid in the Middle East, said:
“Our commitment to the Kingdom goes beyond manufacturing electric vehicles; it also includes educational partnerships, expanding the customer base, and growth in manufacturing capabilities. Through these efforts, we contribute to driving innovation, empowering national talents, and supporting the Kingdom’s ambitious vision for a more sustainable future.”
Moving Towards Full Production and Assembly
Lucid opened its first car factory in Saudi Arabia in September 2023, which witnessed the assembly of thousands of award-winning Lucid Air sedans at the AMP-2 facility for delivery to customers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The factory also welcomes the leading Lucid Gravity SUV, launched in the Kingdom in February 2025, available for order via Lucid’s website or local showrooms in Riyadh and Jeddah.
At the beginning of 2024, Lucid’s factory entered its next development phase by laying the foundation stone for the Complete Built-Up (CBU) unit, enabling full vehicle manufacturing in Saudi Arabia. The unit’s construction is proceeding according to the current year’s timeline, with full assembly operations expected to begin in December 2026. Completing this new unit represents Lucid’s transition from assembling imported cars to full local production, a crucial step directly supporting the Kingdom’s ambition to localize advanced manufacturing under Vision 2030.
A Manifestation of a Nation’s Vision
The anniversary of the establishment of Lucid’s AMP-2 factory reflects the convergence of goals and progress. The event embodies a firm commitment to building the future based on an ambitious vision, strategic investments, and a determined pursuit of transformative objectives. Lucid’s progress, alongside the Kingdom’s relentless pursuit of sustainable development, reflects a shared momentum driving a success story based on innovation, resilience, and bold ambition.
Today, Lucid begins its own chapter in the development journey. As the AMP-2 facility approaches full production phase next year, the company is preparing to be an active part in shaping the future of electric transportation in the Kingdom.
