As part of its social role, the Egyptian Armed Forces, through the Recruitment and Mobilization Department, deployed several medical recruitment committees to the governorates of Menoufia, Sharqia, and Gharbia. This was coordinated with universities and intellectual schools within their jurisdiction to facilitate procedures for people with disabilities and the elderly, preventing their need to travel to recruitment and mobilization centers. Locations close to their residences were prepared, and medical and recruitment committees were sent to examine them and complete their recruitment cases without any hardship and free of charge.

The facilitation also included sending medical recruitment committees to the residences of some individuals unable to move due to health conditions, completing their recruitment cases, and delivering final exemption certificates without any difficulty or financial burden.

In honor of Egypt’s people with disabilities and the elderly, celebrations were held in each governorate to hand over exemption certificates, reflecting the Armed Forces’ commitment to supporting citizens and bringing joy to them.

During a visit to Menoufia University, Youm7 observed citizens’ positive reactions to these services, which included handing over military service exemption certificates to several people with disabilities and elderly citizens, alongside honoring outstanding sports figures from the governorate. This aligns with the state’s direction to support vulnerable groups and promote social solidarity and inclusion.

The event included delivering exemption certificates to citizens whose health or social circumstances prevented them from performing military service, a humanitarian gesture by the Armed Forces emphasizing respect and appreciation for all Egyptian people.

The family of Mahmoud Ayman Mohamed Barakat, one of the honorees, expressed pride in the state’s attention, especially to people with disabilities, thanking the Egyptian army and all contributors to this moment. Mohamed Ali Ramadan Al-Tahami also expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am proud to be part of this event; I thank the Armed Forces for the facilitation they provided and everyone involved in this unforgettable day.”

They confirmed that caring for people with disabilities reflects true awareness of human value and that they feel immense pride in what Egyptian state institutions do for them.

Additionally, a group of sports heroes with disabilities who overcame difficulties and achieved national honors were recognized. The family of Abdelrahman Ibrahim Fathi, gold medalist in the Egypt Karate Cup, expressed great happiness for the honor, thanking the Armed Forces and the Recruitment and Mobilization Department.

Similarly, Tamer Ali Suleiman, gold medalist in butterfly swimming, said, “I dreamed of raising the Egyptian flag, and thanks to God, I achieved it. I thank those responsible for the honor that made me feel I am doing something important for Egypt.”

In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Farag Al-Qasid, President of Menoufia University, stated that this event reflects the university’s commitment to its social role towards the governorate’s citizens, especially people with disabilities. He pointed out that cooperation with the Armed Forces in such initiatives embodies the spirit of integration between state institutions in serving citizens. He stressed the importance of true empowerment of people with disabilities and providing an inclusive environment that enables them to excel and participate in education, work, and social and sports activities.

Major General Ahmed Mustafa Sadiq, Director of the Recruitment and Mobilization Department, explained that the Armed Forces work to facilitate procedures and provide all forms of support to citizens, especially those with special needs and the elderly. He emphasized that serving the nation is not limited to weapons but includes everyone who contributes with dedication, effort, and determination.

The Recruitment Director confirmed that the comprehensive update of the recruitment system now aligns with the most advanced standards and considers the human dimension in every procedure.
