The Nomination Committee for the House of Representatives elections at the Red Sea Primary Court, headed by Judge Ali Abubakr, the court president, has received papers from 5 candidates running for the individual seats in the single-member districts since the first hours of its opening until noon today.
The committee operates daily from 9 AM to 5 PM. The Red Sea Governorate includes 3 electoral districts: the first district includes Hurghada and Ras Ghareb cities and is allocated one individual seat; the second district includes Safaga, El Quseir, and Marsa Alam, also allocated one individual seat; the third district includes Halayeb and Shalateen, also allocated one individual seat. The governorate also has two seats in the party list.
The National Election Authority had called on registered voters in the database to participate in the House of Representatives elections and announced during a press conference that the elections would be held in a single phase, with a full timetable from the call for voters to the announcement of results.
The authority also clarified that the nomination period opens from October 8 until October 15, daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, with the nomination closing at 12 noon on the last day. The final lists of candidates will be announced later.
