US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the Gaza war has sparked significant controversy on social media, with many followers agreeing that it represents a “surrender and an end to the Palestinian cause.”
The plan, presented by Trump on Monday and consisting of 19 points as published by the White House, includes a clause stating that Gaza will be disarmed and placed under a temporary transitional government run by a non-political Palestinian technocratic committee.
It also states that if Hamas rejects or delays this proposal, the provisions will be implemented “in terror-free areas handed over by the Israeli army to the international force.”
Trump’s plan has generated widespread debate on the platform “X,” with many activists agreeing that it aims to “liquidate the Palestinian cause.”
One activist described the plan as “despicable, aiming to liquidate the Palestinian cause and open the door to expansion and domination as well.”
Another said, “Trump’s plan is the same as the Deal of the Century and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, an occupation by Trump and Blair as rulers of Gaza like Bremer when he ruled Iraq,” calling on Hamas “to reject the plan, and on Iran, Yemen, and Iraq to thwart the biggest conspiracy against the Palestinian cause.”
Another wrote, “… It is the greatest betrayal of the cause.”
The hashtag “#Reject_Trump_Plan” spread widely, and below we review some of the posts under it:
