The National Accreditation Council, affiliated with the Ministry of Industry, is the sole accreditation body in Egypt responsible for evaluating and accrediting conformity assessment bodies. The council aims to support the Egyptian economy, serve Egyptian exports, enhance their competitiveness, and ensure the acceptance of goods, services, and products in all countries worldwide, as accreditation coupled with international recognition is the key to exports and acceptance globally.

The National Accreditation Council is the only accreditation body worldwide recognized internationally and regionally by five global and regional organizations: the African Accreditation Organization (AFRAC), the Arab Accreditation Body (ARAC), the European Accreditation Organization (EA), the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).

This recognition has naturally led to acknowledgment by various global organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Health Organization (WHO), various United Nations organizations especially the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and also the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Vision of the National Accreditation Council

The vision of the National Accreditation Council has evolved from obtaining international recognition from global and regional organizations to maintaining this recognition and expanding both horizontally and vertically.

The council operates in evaluating and accrediting conformity assessment bodies inside and outside Egypt across 13 accreditation fields, including:

The council also conducts training activities on various accreditation standards for conformity assessment bodies for its clients and assessment and accreditation experts inside and outside Egypt.
