The supply process of essential chemical fertilizers to companies has started following the joint technical committee sessions. By the end of September 2025, 38,000 tons of Super 45 fertilizer, 46,000 tons of D.A.B fertilizer, and 37,000 tons of Ammonitrate were allocated.

The quantities of premium seeds collected for the 2025-2026 season recorded a significant increase compared to the previous season, reaching approximately 702,000 quintals. This reflects the efforts made by all stakeholders in the local high-quality seed production system, according to a report published by the National Observatory of Agriculture evaluating the 2024-2025 grain season and preparations for 2025-2026.

The net certified seed production was estimated at 515,000 quintals compared to 261,000 quintals, an increase of 97.3%, distributed over 460,000 hectares of durum wheat, 45,000 hectares of soft wheat, and 10,000 hectares.

Meanwhile, the estimated needs for certified seeds were 573,000 quintals and barley needs were 127,000 quintals.

As part of the preparations for the 2025-2026 grain season and considering the frequency of drought seasons, important measures were taken to enable farmers to acquire production inputs.

The prices of essential chemical fertilizers were maintained as approved by the restricted ministerial council on May 20, 2025.

The programmed areas for the 2025-2026 grain season were estimated at about 1.145 million hectares, distributed over the northwestern governorates with 853,000 hectares and 291,000 hectares in the central and southern governorates.

The programmed irrigated grain areas were estimated at 77,000 hectares for the 2025-2026 season compared to 80,000 hectares in the previous season.

The fertilizer program for the 2025-2026 season includes a total quantity of 289,000 tons of essential chemical fertilizers. The Tunisian Chemical Group was entrusted with producing 150,000 tons at the Ammonitrate factory in Gabes during the fertilizer distribution season, with a supply of no less than 70,000 tons of Ammonitrate.
