Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello accused the United States on Wednesday of carrying out extrajudicial executions by attacking a boat in the Caribbean Sea that he said sailed from Venezuela to the United States carrying drugs.
Cabello said on a television program: “They killed 11 people without due process. I wonder if this is acceptable.”
Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security moved on Wednesday to end the temporary protected status for Venezuelan migrants that was implemented during former President Joe Biden’s administration.
The department stated that Venezuela no longer meets the requirements for protected status.
Temporary protected status is granted to people from countries experiencing natural disasters, armed conflict, or extraordinary events, providing eligible migrants with work permits and temporary protection from deportation.
