The Vice President’s Cup Jiu-Jitsu tournament confirms its pivotal role in discovering talents, refining skills, and paving the way towards continental and global championships, as one of the most prominent national platforms for creating champions.

The latest edition of the tournament concluded with exciting competitions that brought together a selection of emerging talents and promising stars from various clubs across the country.

The tournament, which ended yesterday, saw Bani Yas Club crowned champions in the senior category, Sharjah Martial Arts Club winning the under-14 category, Al Ain Club taking the under-16 title, while Al Jazira Club topped the under-18 category.

Obaid Khamis Al Kaabi, Board Member of Bani Yas Club and supervisor of Jiu-Jitsu, confirmed that winning the senior title was the result of a comprehensive team effort and joint cooperation between management, players, and technical staff.

Al Kaabi dedicated this achievement to His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and President of Bani Yas Sports and Cultural Club, noting that his continuous support was the cornerstone of this success, while also affirming the club’s great ambitions to continue excellence and climb the podiums.

Omar Sami, coach of Sharjah Martial Arts Club, explained that the club’s strategy relies on early preparation and continuous work, which positively reflected on the team’s results, achieving first place in the under-14 category and second place in the under-16 category.

He pointed out that these results reflect the continuous development in the players’ level, noting that some have joined the UAE Jiu-Jitsu national team, which reflects the great success of the club’s technical and administrative system.

Abdullah Al Kaabi, a player from Al Ain Club in the senior category, expressed his happiness with his team’s third-place finish, considering it a motivation to continue working and achieve the gold medal next season, confirming that his ambition extends to representing the UAE in the biggest global forums.

His teammate Hazaa Hassani indicated that the competition was strong with the participation of ten clubs, expressing pride in winning third place and confirming his determination to continue developing to be among the elite players in the country.

In the under-16 category, Maid Al Hosani, a player from Sharjah Club, expressed satisfaction with securing second place amid fierce competition, stressing that his future ambition is to win the world champion title.

In the under-18 category, Salem Mohammed Al Qubaisi, a player from Al Ain Club and silver medalist in the 60 kg weight class, expressed his happiness with this result, confirming that team performance and cohesion among players played the biggest role in achieving this accomplishment, pointing out that his next goal is to win the masters’ gold and represent the UAE in the best way in international championships.

The results achieved in the Vice President’s Cup Jiu-Jitsu reflect the continuous work inside the clubs and the readiness of the young generations to carry the banner of excellence in Jiu-Jitsu, which has become one of the most advanced martial arts in the country and the region.
