Hani Abdel Samie, Assistant Secretary of the Future of Homeland Party in the Red Sea Governorate, praised the Arab Republic of Egypt for winning a distinguished seat in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council elections for Category II, affirming that this achievement reflects the international community’s confidence in Egypt’s capabilities and leadership in the civil aviation sector.

Abdel Samie stated in a Monday statement that Egypt succeeded, thanks to the political leadership’s vision and its attention to the air transport file, in achieving a new accomplishment added to its impressive record on the international stage. He explained that this victory confirms Egypt’s position as a key hub in the global aviation industry, especially due to its strategic geographical location linking the three continents of Africa, Asia, and Europe.

He added that Egypt’s winning of this prestigious seat opens broader horizons to enhance air transport movement, whether through developing national aviation fleets or modernizing airports and expanding air navigation networks. This positively reflects on the volume of international trade and the flow of goods and services through Egyptian airspace. He clarified that this achievement will boost the state’s ability to attract more investments in the aviation sector and related logistics services, contributing to achieving sustainable development goals.

The Assistant Secretary of the Future of Homeland Party in the Red Sea pointed out that the tourism sector will be one of the main beneficiaries of this victory, as enhancing Egypt’s position in ICAO directly reflects the confidence of global airlines and investors in the tourism sector. Moreover, developing air transport infrastructure opens the door to increasing the number of tourist flights, which enhances the competitiveness of Egyptian destinations, foremost among them Red Sea cities such as Hurghada and Marsa Alam, which are among the world’s most prominent tourist destinations.

Abdel Samie confirmed that this achievement is not a momentary success but the result of the state’s continuous efforts to modernize the civil aviation system and apply the highest standards of safety and security. It also reflects the success of Egyptian diplomacy in gaining the international community’s trust through diligent work and continuous coordination with international and regional organizations.

Hani Abdel Samie concluded by emphasizing that Egypt’s winning a seat on the ICAO Council represents a national gain that enhances the state’s presence on the international stage and provides it with more tools to support trade movement and stimulate global tourism, which consolidates its position as a pivotal country in the global air transport industry.
