After US President Donald Trump revealed on Thursday evening that the second phase of the Gaza agreement would involve surrendering weapons, Hamas responded.
“No Palestinian will accept surrendering weapons”
Hamas leader Osama Hamdan stated on Thursday that no Palestinian would accept surrendering weapons.
He said, “No Palestinian will accept surrendering weapons, and our people need weapons and resistance more than ever,” according to his expression.
Meanwhile, Hamas leader in Gaza Khalil al-Hayya announced that the agreement was reached to end the war and begin implementing a permanent ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal.
He also confirmed in a Thursday evening speech that the movement consulted with factions before responding to Trump’s plan.
He added that Hamas dealt with the US plan responsibly and provided a response that serves the people’s interests, according to him.
Al-Hayya also announced that the Rafah crossing will be opened in both directions.
He emphasized that the Palestinian people must decide their own fate.
