Qatar and Saudi Arabia condemned on Monday the Israeli targeting of medical, relief, and media teams at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza Strip. They called on the international community to act to “put an end to Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.” This came in statements from the foreign ministries of both countries following the death of at least 20 Palestinians, including 4 medical workers and 5 journalists, in an Israeli airstrike targeting the emergency building of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis early Monday morning.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that the country “condemns the Israeli occupation’s bombing of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, which resulted in the death of innocent unarmed civilians.” It described the bombing as “a new link in the series of heinous crimes continuously committed by the occupation against the brotherly Palestinian people and a blatant violation of international law.”
It affirmed that “the occupation’s approach in targeting journalists and workers in relief and medical fields requires urgent and decisive international action to provide necessary protection for civilians and ensure that perpetrators of these atrocities do not escape punishment.”
Meanwhile, the Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed “the Kingdom’s condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces targeting medical, relief, and media teams at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis.” It stressed “the Kingdom’s rejection of the continuous Israeli violations of international laws and norms.” It renewed “the Kingdom’s call on the international community to put an end to these Israeli crimes and emphasized the necessity of providing protection for workers in medical, relief, and media fields.”
