QatarEnergy has signed a long-term sale and purchase agreement with Messer to supply 100 million cubic feet annually of helium gas from Qatar to global markets.
This agreement marks the first direct long-term contract between QatarEnergy and Messer, the largest private industrial gases company headquartered in Germany.
The signing took place in Doha under the patronage of the Qatari Minister of Energy, Managing Director and CEO of QatarEnergy, Eng. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, with the presence of Messer’s Global CEO, Bernd Oleits, and senior executives from both companies.
Al-Kaabi said, “Messer is one of the leading global suppliers of helium with a strong reputation. We are pleased to conclude our first direct agreement with Messer and to continue supplying high-quality helium gas to the world through trusted partners.”
He added, “This agreement reflects QatarEnergy’s commitment to providing reliable resources from one of the world’s largest helium producers to support many industries worldwide.”
Helium is considered an essential element in many advanced fields and technologies, including MRI machines, semiconductor manufacturing, quantum computing, fiber optics, and space exploration.
