The social protection convoy from the Tahya Misr Fund has arrived in Fayoum Governorate to provide social care, targeting 5,000 families in need.
This comes in implementation of directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to intensify the fund’s efforts to protect vulnerable families.
The convoy included packages of social services and assistance to ensure an improved standard of living for the beneficiary families.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, inspected the convoy’s activities accompanied by several local leaders, officials from the Tahya Misr Fund, village heads, and religious figures, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts between the state and civil society to alleviate citizens’ burdens and support vulnerable groups.
The convoy distributed 10 tons of meat as part of the “Bilhana wal Shifa” initiative, one of the social protection axis initiatives, aiming to support vulnerable families, benefiting more than 8 million citizens annually.
It also included the “Dukkan Al-Farha” exhibition, featuring 50,000 assorted items including clothes, shoes, accessories, cookware, furnishings, and children’s toys. Each family is allowed to choose 15 items to meet their various needs, over three days from September 30 to October 2.
The exhibition targeted eligible and vulnerable families in Fayoum after social research was conducted to ensure social justice and equal opportunities in villages such as Al-Magharbeen, Al-Salam, Manshat Rahmi, Al-Jaafra, Bahr Abu Al-Meir, Deesa, Sanours, Bayhmo, Ibshaway, Manshat Rabie, Al-Rawda, Al-Khalidiya, Al-Hamdiya, Manshat Al-Amir, Kfour Al-Nil, Al-Tawfiqa, Al-Koumi, Al-Tamia, Al-Shawashna, Qarun, and Al-Mahmoudiya.
It is worth noting that the “Dukkan Al-Farha” initiative was launched in April 2019. Alongside preparing bridal trousseaus, the initiative organizes exhibitions of new clothes for families and students inside public universities and orphanages, with an emphasis on allowing every citizen to freely choose suitable items without charge.
