Army Commander General Rudolf Heikal inspected the Sixth Infantry Brigade Command at the Mohammad Makki Barracks in Baalbek, where he reviewed the operational conditions in the brigade’s area of responsibility and listened to a briefing on the brigade’s missions and the challenges it faces, praising the efforts of its personnel.
He also visited several brigade centers and met with officers and soldiers, commending their “performance in pursuing wanted individuals and those disturbing security, and combating various criminal gangs, especially those involved in drug trafficking and distribution.”
Heikal considered that “the army’s success in its missions is due to its wisdom, professionalism, steadfast loyalty to Lebanon, and the trust of the Lebanese people in it.”
He also pointed out that “those involved in crime represent only themselves, and their actions are completely rejected by all Lebanese,” addressing them by saying: “I am proud of your professionalism and sincere loyalty to the institution, and all Lebanese highly appreciate the sacrifices you make for their security and the future of their children.”
He added: “The security of the homeland is a trust upon our shoulders, and the army command is committed to the sanctity of its mission, keen on national interest and the security of all Lebanese. The army continues to bear its responsibilities amid the current exceptional phase, amidst the country’s circumstances, especially the ongoing attacks by the Israeli enemy and the significant security challenges.”
He called for “responsibility, awareness, and vigilance regarding the seriousness of the rumors and allegations spread by social media targeting the military institution.”
