During her speech, Ahlam Al-Dakhlawi, Director General of Student Affairs, said, “University life is a space for creativity and civic engagement, and from this perspective, the importance of this national workshop is established as a platform for joint thinking aimed at improving university services and enhancing the university environment in all its components.”
She added that the workshop also aims to “consider ways to provide psychological support to ensure students’ mental health by intensifying preventive and awareness activities about risky behaviors, strengthening the role of listening cells, and bringing health services closer to students by reviewing laws and regulations.”
In his speech, Monther Belaid, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized that “student life is a central topic that reflects the ministry’s vision and strategy to build a successful, open, and innovative Tunisian university.”
Belaid pointed out that university life is not just complementary activities but an important pillar in the student’s journey as it contributes to developing his life paths and skills to refine and enhance his abilities and achieve his social and economic integration. It is an opportunity where academic knowledge meets cultural, social, and artistic aspects, which requires formulating a clear vision for student life, unifying it, proposing practical solutions to serve these goals, and facilitating student integration into the labor market.”
This Wednesday morning, Monther Belaid, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presided over a national workshop at a hotel in Sousse on ways to develop and enhance student life as a joint work axis to improve university life, in the presence of the regional governor Sofiane Tanfouri, the Director General of Student Affairs at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and representatives from Tunisian universities and university institutions.
