Vatel Bahrain College of Hospitality organized an orientation day for students to celebrate the new academic year and welcome new students, in the presence of Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al-Jahrami, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council, and Ms. Sarah Ahmed Buhaji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.
The event program opened with the announcement of the “Best Vatel College of 2025” award, which Vatel Bahrain recently won among more than 50 branches worldwide, confirming its leading position within the global Vatel network.
In this context, Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al-Jahrami expressed the council’s support for Vatel Bahrain’s efforts in preparing qualified national cadres in the tourism and hospitality field, emphasizing that providing an innovative learning environment is a fundamental pillar in building qualified human capital to engage in vital sectors, foremost among them the tourism sector, which is a main driver of economic growth.
She also urged students to refine their academic and professional journeys through dedication, discipline, and making the most of academic programs, training, and practical experiences available, in addition to developing their leadership personalities, fostering innovation spirit, enhancing communication skills, and teamwork, praising international partnerships that offer students opportunities for academic, cultural, and training exchanges in diverse environments.
On her part, Sarah Ahmed Buhaji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, confirmed that Vatel Bahrain College is one of the most prominent academic institutions specialized in hospitality, having succeeded in establishing its global status as a key destination for preparing qualified and trained national cadres according to the highest international standards. She pointed out that the college’s role directly contributes to providing the tourism and hospitality sectors in the Kingdom with young expertise capable of keeping pace with the significant expansion witnessed by this vital sector.
Buhaji added that the close partnership between the authority and the college embodies the authority’s commitment to supporting Vatel Bahrain’s journey and enhancing its academic and practical presence, ensuring the sustainability of its successes year after year, and boosting the competitiveness of the Bahraini tourism sector regionally and internationally, in line with Bahrain Tourism Strategy 2022-2026.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, General Manager of Vatel Bahrain College of Hospitality, welcomed the new students, wishing them all success at the start of the new academic year, stressing the importance of orientation day as a key platform in the journey of students about to study at Vatel Bahrain. He highlighted the college’s firm commitment to equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve success and prosperity in the hospitality sector.
He also expressed his appreciation for the continuous support received by Vatel Bahrain College from the Ministry of Tourism and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, pointing out the importance of this support in enriching the college’s academic programs with essential practical training, ensuring that graduates are prepared at the highest levels to excel in the growing hospitality sector.
