Yesterday, Saturday, marked the birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, who was born on October 11, 1963. He received his primary education at the Islamic Scientific College in Amman, then continued his studies in the United Kingdom.
In 1971, he moved to the United States, where he completed his secondary education in Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. In 1981, he enrolled at Brown University in the United States, earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1985, followed by a master’s degree in management from London Business School in 1998.
Driven by his passion for aviation, during his university studies he took specialized training courses in this field, obtaining a pilot license in 1982. He also attended advanced courses in the UK and earned a fighter pilot wing.
He served as Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force from 2001 to 2004. On September 20, 2004, a royal decree appointed him as Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
After a long and distinguished service in the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, a royal decree appointed him as Advisor to His Majesty the King and Chairman of the National Policies Council, dedicating himself to the duties of this position while retaining an honorary rank of Lieutenant General.
He chairs the Board of Trustees of the King Abdullah II Center of Excellence, the Jordan Olympic Committee, the Board of Directors of the Jordan Motor Sport Federation, and the Peace through Sport Committee.
He is also the founder and chairman of the Board of the Generations For Peace organization, a member of the International Olympic Committee since 2010, and was elected in June 2019 as a member of the IOC Executive Board. He also holds membership in the World Motor Sport Organization and has represented Jordan in many Arab and international meetings and forums.
He is blessed with six children: Princess Aya, Prince Omar, Princess Sara, Princess Aisha, Prince Abdullah, and Prince Mohammed. He married Her Royal Highness Princess Zeina Al Feisal on January 4, 2014.
