Al-Morsal Charity Foundation, a member of the National Alliance for Developmental Civic Work, organized a comprehensive awareness event about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, attended by a distinguished group of professors and consultants from various specialties, with the presence of 78 patients and their companions.

Dr. Mervat Eissa, Professor of Rheumatology and Immunology at Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine, emphasized the importance of early diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis, highlighting the main symptoms and factors affecting disease activity, and discussed both drug and non-drug treatments such as exercise and physical therapy.

Dr. Majid Al-Sheikh, Dermatology Consultant and Head of the Dermatology Department at Al-Galaa Complex, explained that psoriasis is a chronic immune disease with possible genetic factors, detailing the affected areas and different types of psoriasis, and the development of biological therapy as a new hope for achieving positive and sustainable results, reviewing the main available treatment options.

Dr. Nora Samir Khidr, Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultant at Ain Shams University, addressed the impact of psoriasis on fertility, stressing the importance of choosing safe treatments during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Meanwhile, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Hassan, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Helwan University, reviewed the psychological impact of psoriasis on patients, emphasizing the need to provide family support and psychological follow-up alongside medical treatment.

This event was part of the National Alliance for Developmental Civic Work’s efforts to enhance health awareness and provide comprehensive medical information to patients, aiming to improve their quality of life.

The foundation confirmed its continued organization of similar initiatives and events in cooperation with universities, state institutions, and the private sector to develop the quality of health services and enhance the efficiency of medical care provided to the community, supporting the expansion of partnerships with positive health impact.
