Trump: The war in Gaza has ended and the new administration will start work very quickly.
On his X platform account, Abbas Araghchi wrote: “Iran is grateful for President Sisi’s invitation to attend the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit. Despite our desire for diplomatic engagement, neither I nor President (Masoud) Pezeshkian can engage with someone who attacked the Iranian people and continues his threats and sanctions against us,” referring to U.S. President Donald Trump.
Araghchi added: “However, Iran welcomes any initiative that ends the Israeli genocide in Gaza and leads to the expulsion of occupation forces,” stressing that “Palestinians have every right to their fundamental right of self-determination, and all countries should assist them in supporting this legal and legitimate demand more than ever before.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister concluded his post by saying: “Iran has always been and will remain a key force for peace in the region. Unlike the criminal Israeli regime, Iran does not seek endless wars but aims for lasting peace, prosperity, and cooperation.”
An international summit titled “Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit” is scheduled to be held in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday afternoon, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump, with participation from leaders of more than twenty countries and organizations.
The Egyptian presidency stated that the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit aims to end the war in the Gaza Strip, enhance efforts to establish peace and stability in the Middle East, and open a new chapter of regional security and stability.
Trump is expected to make a short visit to Israel on Monday, which may coincide with the implementation of the first phase of his plan to end the armed conflict ongoing for two years in the Gaza Strip and the prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel.
