Dr. Abdel Moneim Said, political thinker and member of the Senate, stated that the United States of America will sign the war-ending agreement as a “guarantor” of the agreement and simultaneously representing the Israeli side.

He added during a television interview on the program “Al-Soura” broadcast on “Al-Nahar” that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will play a role in the upcoming phase of the peace process, noting that his career is not without “many flaws,” such as the decision to intervene in the Iraq war; however, his history includes the “virtue” of negotiating with Northern Ireland to establish peace, as well as chairing the international Quartet committee.

He explained that Tony Blair is expected to take on the role of the de facto leader of the transitional process in Gaza.

Regarding the possibility that Trump might announce a “two-state solution” or recognize a Palestinian state, he said: “In my opinion, it has been said,” pointing out that the two powers opposing the two-state solution are Netanyahu and Hamas.

He added that the American president’s peace document states that “there is a path to the existence of a Palestinian state,” emphasizing that the recent massive international momentum in recognizing the Palestinian state has created an undeniable reality.
