Abdel Moneim Imam, head of the Justice Party, has submitted his candidacy papers for the 2025 Egyptian Parliament elections representing the New Cairo, Al Shorouk, and Badr districts.
It is noteworthy that the 28 committees responsible for receiving and reviewing candidacy papers for the parliamentary elections started accepting applications from aspiring candidates today and will continue until October 15. The committees operate from 9 AM to 5 PM, except on the last day when they close at 2 PM.
The National Elections Authority has allowed all those wishing to run for the 2025/2030 parliamentary membership to visit their respective candidacy committees to complete all required documents.
These include the candidate’s CV, especially their academic and professional experience, a recent personal photo (4×6 cm), a criminal record certificate, a statement of whether the candidate is independent or affiliated with a party (with a certificate issued by the party signed and stamped by its head), a financial disclosure for the candidate’s spouse and minor children, academic certificates, military service certificate or exemption proof, a receipt for the deposit of the insurance amount at the competent primary court treasury, a computerized birth certificate, a copy of the national ID card, an official certificate from a primary court after the date of voter invitation proving the candidate is registered in the voter database, an official resignation certificate if the candidate is temporarily barred from running, a certificate proving the opening of an independent election campaign account in local currency at branches of the National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, or post offices, and a declaration of no criminal convictions or rulings against the candidate as per the attached form.
Medical Examination for Candidates
The National Elections Authority also requires candidates to submit a medical report including the results of medical examinations to prove they are free from physical, mental, and psychological illnesses sufficient to perform parliamentary duties, and that they are not users of drugs or intoxicants.
The necessary medical tests and examinations for candidacy procedures began last Saturday. The Ministry of Health designated 129 medical centers and 26 laboratories to conduct medical examinations for parliamentary candidates.
