Major General Alaa Abdel Maati, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, inaugurated today the Psychiatric and Addiction Unit at the General Hospital in Kafr El-Sheikh city. This is part of the governorate’s plan to expand specialized medical and therapeutic services for citizens. The new unit aims to provide comprehensive treatment programs for addiction patients, including psychological therapy, social support, rehabilitation services, and community integration. The governor emphasized the state’s significant focus on mental health as an integral part of public health. He also highlighted that the opening of this unit is an important step to support efforts against addiction and assist patients in recovery and starting a new life, stressing the ongoing work to equip the general hospital with all necessary medical capabilities to serve the residents of the governorate.
