Emirati champion Adel Khaled, a player of our national team and Al Hamriyah Club, secured fifth place in the World Championship for modern sailing in the ILCA 6 and 7 categories, held in the city of Formia, Italy, from September 20 to 28, with the participation of 455 competitors from around the world.
Polish sailor Marcin Rodawski won the title, with Spanish Lucia Reyes as runner-up, Canadian Isaac Bousin third, and French Alexis Tournor fourth.
Adel Khaled expressed his aspiration to participate in the next edition in the Greek capital Athens in 2026, aiming to maintain his outstanding results, especially after winning a bronze medal in 2022 in Mexico, a silver and bronze in 2023 in Thailand, and a bronze in 2024 in Australia.
