A tragic incident occurred in the Ter’at El-Shabouri area of Shubra El-Kheima city in Qalyubia Governorate, where a student fatally stabbed a tuk-tuk driver in the chest following a fight over a stolen motorcycle. The incident was reported to Major General Ashraf Gaballah, Assistant Minister of Interior for Qalyubia Security Sector, to take the necessary legal measures.
Major General Mohamed El-Sayed, Director of the Criminal Investigations Department in Qalyubia, and Major General Wael Metwally, Head of the Directorate’s Investigations, received a report from Lieutenant Colonel Mostafa Diab, Head of Investigations at Shubra El-Kheima Second Police Department, about the arrival of “Mohamed M. R.”, 32 years old, tuk-tuk driver, resident of Ezbet Jaafar in the police jurisdiction, dead with a penetrating chest wound at Nasser General Hospital.
Investigations revealed that the perpetrator was Mohamed E. A., 23 years old, a student residing on Ibrahim El-Sayyad Street within the same jurisdiction.
After legal procedures, the police arrested the suspect, who confessed to the crime, explaining that the victim had stolen his motorcycle, and upon learning the victim’s location, he went to retrieve the stolen vehicle.
The suspect added in his confession that when he arrived at the victim’s location, he found him carrying a sharp weapon, leading to a verbal argument that escalated into a fight. During the altercation, the suspect shouted “Thief” to the bystanders, causing a crowd to gather. During the struggle, the victim was stabbed in the chest, resulting in his death.
The body was transferred to Nasser General Hospital and kept under the Public Prosecution’s custody, which ordered burial after the forensic examination and took over the investigation.
A police report number 9443 for the year 2025 was filed at Shubra El-Kheima Second Police Department, and the prosecution is conducting investigations.
