Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, confirmed the continuation of intensive supply monitoring campaigns on fuel stations and distribution outlets to control markets and deter manipulators of subsidies and petroleum products. This is in implementation of directives from the political leadership and instructions from the Cabinet and Ministry of Supply, emphasizing zero tolerance for violations affecting citizens’ livelihood or wasting state rights.

The Assiut Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade, led by Engineer Khaled Mohamed Ahmed, in coordination with Engineer Tamer Mohamed El-Sayed, head of the Central Committee for Monitoring Petroleum Products at the General Petroleum Authority, conducted a surprise campaign on a fuel station in New Assiut City.

The campaign resulted in the seizure of serious violations involving the accumulation and illegal handling of petroleum products. The team included members from the Supply Directorate and the General Petroleum Authority: Engineer Khaled Ali Youssef and Engineer Abdel Nasser Kamel.

The governor added that the campaign seized a pickup truck loaded with a tank containing 800 liters of diesel collected for sale on the black market. The committee also uncovered violations at the station involving the accumulation of 16,489 liters of diesel and the illegal handling of 11,334 liters of gasoline, totaling 28,600 liters.

Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr stressed that all deterrent legal measures would be taken against the violators and that the records would be referred to the competent prosecution for investigation. He confirmed that executive and monitoring bodies are in a constant state of alert to confront any attempts to harm the national economy or manipulate citizens’ needs.

The governor concluded by stating that the state will not allow manipulation of citizens’ livelihoods, and that supply monitoring authorities, in cooperation with relevant bodies, continue to firmly confront subsidy thieves to protect public funds and ensure subsidies reach their rightful beneficiaries.
