The Ministry of Social Solidarity continues today, Saturday, to disburse cash support to families benefiting from the Takaful and Karama program for the current month of August, covering 4.7 million families with a value exceeding 4 billion Egyptian pounds. Beneficiaries receive their payments through all available ATMs of banks spread across the country, and they can also perform electronic payments and all government transactions and purchases.
The Takaful and Karama program plays an important role in supporting the state’s social and economic rights, providing conditional and unconditional cash assistance to the most vulnerable families and individuals, directing their capacities towards sustainable development in Egypt.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity monitors the disbursement process of the Takaful and Karama program, coordinating with governors and directors of social solidarity directorates to follow up on the payment process. Cash support is provided to 4.7 million vulnerable families, approximately 18 million citizens, with an annual budget of 54 billion Egyptian pounds following the approval of a permanent 25% increase implemented since April.
