Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, stated that Al-Azhar firmly supports President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and prays for his strength to remain steadfast in rejecting the dissolution of the Palestinian cause.
This was said during Egypt’s celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, held on Wednesday at the Al-Manara International Conference Center, attended by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
He added that Al-Azhar supports President El-Sisi’s position that protects the rights of the Palestinian people to remain on their land and firmly rejects displacement conspiracies.
The Grand Sheikh affirmed adherence to Egypt’s historic stance in protecting the Palestinian cause and supporting the Palestinians.
During the event, Gaza and the Palestinian cause were highlighted in a speech by Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, who said that Egypt, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is exerting all efforts to extinguish the fires of war in Gaza and the West Bank.
He added that these efforts stem from Egypt’s belief in justice and rejection of aggression, emphasizing that Egypt, both leadership and people, firmly rejects the displacement of Palestinians from their land.
He pointed out that Egypt calls on Palestinians to firmly hold on to their homeland regardless of the heavy sacrifices, stressing that the only solution to the Palestinian crisis is the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The event was attended by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister; Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments; Dr. Nazir Mohamed Eyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt; along with the heads of the House of Representatives and the Senate, several ministers, and senior state officials.
The celebration program also included the recitation of a poem titled “1500 Years Since the Birth of Our Master Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him,” and the audience listened to two songs titled “Muhammad, O Messenger of God” and “Muhammad Our Prophet.”
