The General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police organized an event to raise community awareness about the importance of rapid response to emergency vehicles, aiming to contribute to saving lives and reducing response time. This was part of the “Give Way” campaign for emergency vehicles, with participation from Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, Abu Dhabi Department of Health, and Emirates Driving Institute.

The event, held over two days at Al Reem Mall, received significant visitor engagement. It highlighted the importance of public cooperation with relevant authorities and the procedures to follow when encountering an emergency vehicle on the road, as well as raising awareness about legal penalties for failing to give way to emergency vehicles.

Participants emphasized that drivers’ quick response in giving way to emergency vehicles plays a crucial role in saving lives, urging the public to support their efforts by adhering to traffic rules when ambulances or fire trucks approach.

Abu Dhabi Police stressed the importance of public cooperation with authorities and the procedures to follow when facing an emergency vehicle on the road, in addition to raising awareness about legal penalties for not giving way.

Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, through several activities, confirmed the importance of every second in emergencies and that rapid response plays a decisive role in saving lives. They called on the public to support their efforts by complying with traffic rules when ambulances or fire trucks approach.

Emirates Driving Institute provided an educational briefing on six main scenarios drivers may face when encountering emergency vehicles, such as stopping at traffic signals, roundabouts, internal roads, and highways. They explained the best ways to safely and smoothly give way without endangering oneself or others.

On the sidelines of the event, educational art workshops were organized for children to introduce the campaign’s goals in a simple and engaging way, enhancing their traffic culture from an early age, contributing to building a generation aware of its responsibilities toward public safety.
